What is the process of lip augmentation?
A V-Y lip augmentation is performed under anesthesia. After giving anesthesia doctor will take a fat from other part of patient’s body using a small needle, your doctor will inject this fat taken from your body into your lips to fill them out. Doctors will probably use artificial substances like- Artecoll or Restylane to fill your lips, collagen is also popular for lips and wrinkles around the mouth.
Lip Augmentation Before And After
Before choosing such injectibles discuss with your doctors about the advantages and disadvantages and which is the best for you. A more permanent augmentation of the lips can be attained by inserting thin tubes made up of Gore-Tex material. These tubes are inserted in the lips by directing anesthesia around the area for treatment.
Lip Augmentation Before After
Results of lip augmentation are immediate, you can feel it. The swelling after the operation will take one or two weeks to refurbish. You are able to return in your daily work in 7 to 10 days.
In lip augmentation the extra skin from the upper skin will remove by making the small incision below the nose. This helps lifting the pink portion of the lip (vermilion), which has the effect in more visibility of the vermilion.
Permanent Lip Augmentation
It also shortens the vertical height of the skin portion of the upper lip between the nose and mouth. Visible stitches will remain for one week, after this you can return to your daily work.
Restylane Lip Augmentation
Lip augmentation is performed under anesthesia. Incisions are made in the inner side of the lip and the inner line is elevated. To improve the lip contour the elevated lining is elevated. After this there will be a large amount of swelling of the lip which could be marked for two weeks, gradually decreasing each day. It will be fully improved after 8 or 10 days.
Lip augmentation is done with an anesthesia, during graft process lips may be completely numbed with a local anesthetic. Normally lip lifting procedure takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending upon the procedure employed.
Basic 3 categories of lip augmentation:
• Injections: the surgeon injects a small semi liquid substance (most popular fat and collagen) into the lips to enhance them. This method is also used to correct asymmetries of the lips. These injections can be repeated little with no danger.
• Grafting: This involves more active work as opposed to injection fillers. A substance or material is inserted or grated to the body. There are a few types of materials used.
• Local flaps: in this process flaps are placed inside and outside the mouth. It is more invasive and it is used when other techniques are diminished. This process involves an incision in the upper lip that follows the lip line.
After this skin is removed and the lip is lifted and turned outward to give a fuller look. However there will always be a permanent scar on the lip edge.
Recovery of local flap depends on the technique used but there will be still some side effects. There will be minimal discomfort, a little bruising and swelling in the hours and a days following most lip augmentation processes. After local flaps patients can return back to their work either the same day or within 48 hours.
